More pennies videos

go to 'Heads' (2006)   /   go to 'Tails' (2004)

pennies_320x238 A stop-motion video made with all the Pennies I had in the house at the time of shooting in July 2004, numbering 416, including my collection of older pennies, with the exclusion of the King George pennies. The pennies appear in the order of the date shown on the coin. This video, and it's companion below, appear on Interval on page 6.
pennies_2_320x229 Same video as above but with background darkened. This video, and it's companion above, appear on Interval on page 6. This version is also part of my flip book collection
pennies_queen_side_09-09-06 In 2006 I re-shot the same pennies (seen above) in preparation for a video submission to the One Minute Film and Video Festival, which was accepted. The theme of the festival that year was "Time" or maybe it was "Growth." I can't remember. Once again, here are all the same 416 pennies but viewed from the 'Queen' side. This is the only existing post of this version, uploaded Feb 21, 2026. A cropped version of selected coins was used for another project - see below and on the Queen on a Penny page
Queen on a penny all_originals_10fps_640x480 This is larger and faster video version of the above using the same images. This is the currently the only existing post of this version, uploaded today, Feb 21, 2026. A cropped version of selected coins was used for Queen on a Penny - see below and previous page.
Queen on a Penny remake for Vimeo Feb 21 2026 - cropped 320x234_5000kbits

Fourteen years ago (2012) I posted a cropped version of the coin sequence on Vimeo, which somehow got lost and broken

So this is a (smaller) replacement video I built today (Feb 21, 2026) to replace it. The version on Vimeo is larger than this.

all_frames_320x240 One Minute - 60 pennies, one per second, cropped close and selected for video submission to The One Minute Film and Video Festival - this version is without sound. The final version with sound is on the previous page

There are also flattened pennies, and a smashed penny, but that's a story for another day...

Also, somethuing to add here are process images of shooting the pennies.
